The role of the innovation in the definition of new formal paradigms in Architecture [Articolo]
Firenze University Press, 2018-04-09

New technologies spread by the fourth industrial revolution led professionals and workers in building sector to reconsider formal paradigms by now well-established. This attitude determined the birth of complex architectures in which heterogeneous materials and components interact each other to provide an answer to different, interconnected issues, making buildings capable of establish changing relationships with users and the surrounding environment as well. Therefore, the present contribution aims to understand, through the analysis of some contemporary architectures, how the use of such technologies has innovated design practices, modifying the architectural language and enhancing it through the introduction of innovative elements.
